TeamTalk Wireless Issue 67

Nick_TTK_FrontLine

Welcome to our final newsletter of the year

The Kaikoura earthquake was a shock to all of us. Our thoughts are with the people whose homes and businesses are damaged. In the aftermath, the TeamTalk Wellington head office looked like it had hosted a wild party but in reality suffered minimal damage and is fully operational.

It brings home the need for communications in times of emergency. From a health and safety perspective, the ability to contact your staff is imperative. More and more businesses are turning to radio as an essential tool for employee safety.

In this edition, our CEO Andrew Miller comments on TeamTalk network performance and response to the disaster, we introduce our Upper North Island Regional Sales Engineers, you can read about how Manukau Animal Shelter uses their radios, and our special offer of a free spare battery with Motorola DP4000 e-series hand portables.

Finally, we wish you season’s greetings and best wishes for the new year.

Kaikoura Earthquake Statement from CEO Andrew Miller

All our networks remained fully operational following the recent earthquake activity and while there were some short-term power outages they were mitigated with the usual backup batteries in place. Our networks have proved their resilience.

We are working with the Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management along with local civil defence and local authorities in providing support and solutions for the various impacted communities. Our teams will continue to liaise with the multiple stakeholders to design and implement the appropriate solutions required to meet requirements going forward.

Meet The Team

It’s always good to put faces to the people on the other end of the phone or email. Re-instating the ‘Meet the Team’ section, here are the Regional Sales Engineers for the Upper North Island region.

In this photo we have: (L-R) Peter Wood, Stuart Dunthorne (Team Leader), and Kurt Henderson.

Regional Sales Engineers own the technical relationship with customers in their local area. They work with the Sales team on pre-sales technical solution design, solution delivery, customer training and post-sales technical support.
